Vermont Cabin

A forest escape for an active family.

Sitting on a wooded hillside site, this new cabin is carefully positioned to capture light and views to the surrounding landscape. The house takes cues from vernacular forms and honest materials of the region.

The systems of the home are all electric, eliminating fossil fuel use on site. A photovoltaic array over the south-facing screened porch helps offset the house's electrical needs, and the house's wood structure and cladding reduce its embodied carbon footprint.
